TRACK ODYSSEY AT SEA

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

This website tracks ships around the world if they are equipped with AIS.  On Odyssey our AIS works whenever our radar is turned on.  As long as you know approximately where we are in the world, you can locate and track us.

WELCOME
let's stay in touch and share adventures

Thank you for looking in on us.  You can check out our Captain's Log,  pictures,  our tentative (and probably overly ambitious) cruising schedule, maps and other things of interest.  Please let us know what you think of our website, as well as any suggestions you may have or travel recommendations that come to mind.

We completed our  6,200 trip from Dana Point, California to Newport, Rhode Island in July, 2011.  We cruised down the Baja and the Pacific coast of Mexico with stops at places such as Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, and Hautulco near Oaxaca.   We crossed the Gulf of Tehuantepec, visited Guatemala and put in at El Salvador for a week.  Then we sailed for Costa Rica, and after a few stops in route, we moored at Papagayo for a month, and visited Los Suenos, Quepos and Golfito.   After a brief trip home, we rejoined the boat and headed for Panama and  the Pacific Islands of Parida and Coiba.   We transited the canal in late April and then cruised to the San Blas Islands where we enjoyed a week with the Kuna Indians; we then crossed the Caribbean Sea to Montego Bay, Jamaica.  From there, we sailed past Cuba and Haiti, up the Windward Passage and headed for the Bahamas.  We enjoyed the white sand and friendly people and our days in Georgetown and the Chat'n Chill.  After ten days in the Bahamas we put in at West Palm Beach, Florida.  After a brief stopover, we moved up the east coast to Norfolk, NYC, Long Island and finally Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Odyssey I has been sold and we now await delivery of our new 68 Ft Nordhavn.   We are looking forward to our new Nordhavn under construction in Taiwan.   She should be arriving in Florida in February or March and we should be underway again by April 2012.

December 2011 - We are  in Ann Arbor after our trip to Ta Shing Yacht Building, Ltd. in Tainan, Taiwan.  We met with the great team of people who are building our new boat, and availed ourselves of the opportunity to see Taiwan.  I was last there in 1966 as a sailor on the USS Currituck, AV-7;  things have changed a little since then!

We have completed our Great Mango Run from California to Rhode Island.  It was a fantastic adventure, a trip of a lifetime.

We have written a new Captain's Log and placed pictures covering our travels from  Norfolk, Va. to NYC, to Newport, Rhode Island and our Taiwan trip on the website.
